Funimation streamed the English-dubbed trailer for My Hero Academia THE MOVIE: World Heroes' Mission. The film will screen in over 1,500 theaters in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Ireland on October 29, and in Australia and New Zealand on October 28. It will also open in Hong Kong on October 21, and in Taiwan on October 29.
Theatergoers will receive a 76-page My Hero Academia: World Heroes' Mission Vol. W Specialty Manga Booklet on opening weekend from October 29-31, but not in Australia or New Zealand. Horikoshi drew the cover for the manga volume and some of the contents, including a manga with an original scenario. Other contents include a roundtable interview with past and present editors of the manga, costume and character designs, and an interview with Horikoshi.
After Edens Zero ended on Sunday, the official website and Twitter account @EDENSZERO_PJ announced Yūshi Suzuki, Edens Zero director, passed away on September 9 at a Tokyo hospital.
Edens Zero was Suzuki’s first full series as director, but ey also worked as a key animator on several other series such as Fairy Tail and Pretty Rhythm Aurora Dream, and directed episodes of the third Fairy Tail season, Log Horizon: Destruction of the Round Table, Cardfight!! Vanguard GZ, Talentless Nana, and more.
The Twitter account also thanked fans for watching the final episode and added, "Shiki and his friends' adventure will continue. Thank you for your continued support."
Shogakukan announced Takao Saito, the mangaka of Golgo 13, passed away on September 24 from pancreatic cancer at 84 years old. Saito said before eir death the manga should continue on without em, and the Saito Production group of artists will continue the work with the assistance of the editorial department of Shogakukan's Big Comic magazine and an additional scriptwriting staff.
The Vancouver Sun and Province newspaper posted an obituary for voice actor French Tickner, who passed away on August 26 at 91 years old on that day. Tickner voiced Watari in Death Note, Kagome's Grandpa in Inuyasha, and Dozle Zabi in Mobile Suit Gundam.
