Crunchyroll-Hime, Crunchyroll’s mascot, has a YouTube channel and had the first livestream on October 12th. Crunchyroll-Hime will stream every Tuesday and Thursday about anime and video games, and will also hold monthly "AniMarathons," to host curated blocks of anime episodes.
"Sanrio's Real Employee VTuber", Natsume Renge, made a debut on YouTube on October 11th with a short video introduction, and the first livestream was October 15th. The VTuber, nicknamed Merenge, is an employee of the Virtual Section of Sanrio's Marketing Division, and wears a three-tiered pancake.
As part of an exhibition held by the French anime and manga publisher Kazé, Naoya Matsumoto's Kaiju No. 8 manga had a 45-meter tall mural spread across the Bibliothèque Nationale, France's national library in Paris. This was to commemorate the release of Kaiju No. 8's first volume in France on October 6. The exhibition started the same day as the volume's release and ran until October 15.
Tezuka Productions announced a project titled "From the Fragments of Tezuka Osamu". The project plans to auction several artworks based on Osamu Tezuka's original works as Non-Fungible Tokens, and the first work to be auctioned is a digital mosaic made up of Tezuka's original manga manuscripts. The Astro Boy image in the mosaic is made up of over 6,000 fragments cut from roughly 4,000 sheets of black and white manuscripts, and the background is comprised of 840 colored manuscripts including cover art, manga scenes, and frontispieces.
A Kickstarter campaign was announced for an upcoming Cowboy Bebop tabletop role-playing game that will launch in 2022. Don't Panic Games and Mana Project Studio in collaboration with Sunrise will be develop the game with a projected release to be at the end of 2022.
