Otaku News Weekly Recap: March 22, 2021-March 28, 2021
Monster Hunter Rise released for the Nintendo Switch on March 26, 2021 and completely absorbed me. I do not necessarily talk about gaming news, but it is still kind of part of otaku culture (ignoring the live action we knew was going to be terrible, but they made anyways). Also, because it distracted me from really staying up to date on the other otaku news. Oops, so this is going to be kind of short.
Over on Vic’s Lab, the light novel Omega: Volume 1: Destiny Awaken will be delisted from at all retailers on April 21, 2021 due to license expiration. If you have not check this one out, now would be the time. It is one of the last books on Vic’s Lab I have yet to read, so this would be the time for me, too.
Now over on Novel Horizons, the Kickstarter for Shadow of a God: Volume 1 is almost over, or probably will be by the time most people see this, and it already hit its goal and then some. It started on March 15, 2021 and was already got mostly funded by the second day, so this is no surprise although still cool. If you want to back it, there may still be time or just buy it whenever it releases.
Last little bit of news, but just as exciting as Monster Hunter Rise, is the season five premiere for Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia) was on March 27, 2021. I have waited for this for a while, and it was the only thing to momentarily distract me from playing Monster Hunter Rise. I have even been considering doing a weekly review for each episode, so if there is enough interest for me to do that I will. My though quick thought on this first episode: it was still cool, fun and funny to watch, but not as excitable as expected for this new season premiere. I still loved it though, and I am so looking forward to this season. Anyways, the rest of the spring season of anime will be following real soon, so look forward to all of those as well!
